“The new bay window is a testament to the skill of these amazing stonemasons. The Bath stone they used is beautiful and adds a warmth to the house. Its carving is exquisite and matches all the details of neighbouring properties…

“I wholeheartedly recommend their skills to anyone who is looking to do a similar project.”

New bay window and render removal by London Stonemasonry

“We instructed London Stonemasonry to replace three dilapidated stone staircases, to the front elevation of a grade two listed building in central London. The difficult and highly skilled work was executed with great efficiency and to a very high standard of craftsmanship, achieving a finish that blended perfectly with the significant period property.

“I would have no hesitation in working with London Stonemasonry on future projects.”

In our house exterior renovation gallery of projects across London we showcase numerous full exterior renovations, facade repairs, bay window rebuilds, steps, paving and repointing on period homes across London and the South East. Our before and after bay window gallery presents before-and-after images of stone bay window projects in areas including Stratford E15, Stoke Newington N16, Hampton and Finchley. The stone carving gallery of architectural details for projects across London contains images of hand-carved architectural stone elements such as mullions, capitals, lintels, sills, finials and string courses supplied to buildings around London. At an exclusive private estate where we installed a monumental hand-carved stone planter we designed and carved a large one-metre stone planter, achieving a single-block aesthetic through specialist techniques.

At 4 Great Portland Street W1 we surveyed and restored a Portland stone facade, including cornice work, after masonry failure on a central London building. On Great Portland Street W1W we designed, carved and installed a new stone pilaster capital at height, with associated facade repairs for an office building. At Conrad London St. James in Westminster SW1H we carried out external facade refurbishment including stone and brick repairs, a new string course, pilaster bases and leadwork to a landmark central London hotel.

On Borthwick Road, Stratford E15 we revitalised the facade of a terraced house, including bay window restoration, replacement stonework and redecoration to suit the original design. On Amity Road, Stratford E15 we removed a UPVC bay and installed a new hand-carved Victorian-style stone bay window, with new paving and a rebuilt front boundary wall. In Walthamstow E17 we designed and installed a cost-efficient cast stone bay window using existing moulds to upgrade a Victorian terraced home.

On Manor Road, Stoke Newington N16 we replaced and rebuilt a rare upper Bath stone bay window on a Grade II listed property to match the original Victorian design. On Roslyn Road, Tottenham N15 we created and installed a hand-carved stone window surround to replace a UPVC unit and reinstate the original Victorian frontage. In Archway N19 we renovated a traditional Bath stone bay window, including new carved sections and improvements to the surrounding facade. Elsewhere in Archway, Islington N19 we carried out brick cleaning, paint removal and bay window repairs to return a painted frontage to its original brick appearance.

In the Finchley / Barnet, N2 area we removed a cracked bay lintel and installed two new lintels with associated jamb, column and brickwork repairs. In Kentish Town we repaired a damaged stone window sill and replaced failing corbel stones on a period property. At Thornhill Primary School, Islington N1 we carved and installed new coping stones and string course, plus undertook brick repairs, to make a school hall gable end safe and sound.

In St John’s Wood NW8 we surveyed, designed and rebuilt a failing triangular stone pediment on a Grade II listed house in new carved stone. At St Mary Magdalene Church in Enfield we carried out stone and facade restoration works including removal of inappropriate cement repairs, reinstating buttress stones and lime repointing.

On Lavender Sweep, Clapham Junction SW11 we completed lime mortar repointing, brick replacement and paint removal to cure damp and restore a Victorian multi-tenant facade. On Friern Road, Dulwich SE22 we rebuilt a previously botched bay window repair with new foundations, new stonework and a concealed steel support to stop movement. On Ivanhoe Road, Peckham SE5 we constructed a new double bay window on new foundations to replace bays removed due to subsidence.

On Rattray Road, Brixton SW2 we rebuilt and restored shared Bath stone door surrounds, including columns, capitals and canopy, to two neighbouring Victorian terraces. On Electric Avenue, Brixton we carried out stonemasonry, brickwork and pointing restoration to mixed-use properties as part of the regeneration of this historic street. In Balham SW16 we delivered a complete exterior renovation including new carved stone plinths and cornice stones, a rebuilt gable, steps and paving. In Wimbledon we installed a classical stone portico with columns, foundations and structural fixings to frame the entrance of a newly built home.

On Quick Road, Chiswick W4 we removed cement render, restored the brick facade and installed a new hand-carved Bath stone bay window to return the terrace to its Victorian character. In Ealing W5 we repaired and restored stone columns and associated entrance details on a luxury apartment building. In Holland Park W11 we supplied and installed matching stone balustrades, plinth and coping to enhance the entrance of a high-value home. In Hampton, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames we reinstated a period-correct Bath stone bay window, including new stonework, leadwork and roof slates, based on an original neighbouring design.
